Algerian Independence Day

July 5th marks the day of Algeria’s independence. In 1830, Algeria was invaded and colonized by France, which lasted for 132 years. The French colonization of Algeria was extremely brutal, and millions lost their lives during that period. Nonetheless, Algerians continued to resist their oppressors and finally obtained their independence after the Algerian War (1954-1962).

May Algeria’s fight for freedom and independence be an inspiration to those who struggle to gain their freedom as well.

Happy Algerian Independence Day! 🇩🇿
